At first it was announced that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was not
going to attend the UNGA but the next day the decision was changed and
the prime minister departed to attend the UN General Assembly taking
with her a 134-member delegation, the biggest ever entourage since she
took office in January 2009.It has been disclosed that a vast majority of her delegation members
will have no work in UN and they will have nothing to do but enjoy the
trip through shopping, sightseeing and relaxing in the luxurious hotels
during the six-day visit to the United States.This is taxpayers’ money and we protest its wastage in this manner. How
could Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina allow spending the hard-earned money
of the poor people of Bangladesh in such a way?
